Private Lessons:
This is a 12-month, year-round program. Students are expected to continue lessons in the summer as well as during the school year. Lesson days, vacations, holidays, and studio events are all detailed on the studio calendar.
Your lesson is during the time scheduled. If you are late, you will be given only the remaining portion of your time.
No make-up lessons are given for lessons missed by students for any reason.
Student absences cannot be credited or refunded.
“No shows” will not be rescheduled or refunded. Your lesson time is reserved exclusively for you. If you must miss a lesson, please call, email, or text me as soon as possible. I will worry about your safety if you do not show up.
Two floating “sick days” for each day of the week (Mon-Thu) are built into the schedule, in case I am ill or need a personal day for an emergency or unscheduled absence during the school year. The lesson for that day is not included in the tuition schedule, and I will not make up lessons when a “sick day” is taken.
If I must cancel a scheduled lesson, other than the two “sick days” per year, I will make it up. Dates/times will be arranged as needed.

Do not attend lessons when ill. Learning does not happen when you or your child is sick, and it is not a good experience for your child. Please do not pass on contagious illnesses to me and all the other students and families in my studio.
Group Classes:
Group classes will include rehearsal for group concerts, ensemble techniques, review, theory, performance experience and other musical activities.
All students are expected to attend and participate in group classes and studio recitals, concerts and events.
Student absences cannot be credited or refunded.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend group class.
Summer lessons:
Two make-up lessons may be given for lessons missed by students to accommodate summer vacation schedules in June, July and August. No make-up lessons are given during the summer for lessons missed by students for any other reason. Any other student absences cannot be credited or refunded.
Make-up lessons must be requested in advance of the missed lessons. (It is impossible for me to make up 40 lessons during the last week of August.)
Open lesson slots will be filled as soon as they become available. If you discontinue lessons during the summer without paying your summer tuition to hold your space, your lesson spot is considered open. It is unlikely that there will be an open spot in the fall schedule when you return.
Payment of your summer tuition, even if unable to attend lessons, will hold your lesson slot and reserve your space in the fall schedule.
Please note, since schedules are published so far in advance, some calendar dates may be subject to change.
