Friday 10/7
8:30am – leave from Houston area
11:30am-noon-ish – informal meet up for lunch on the road
Location: Collin Street Bakery, 2035 S I-45, Corsicana, Tx 75110 (take exit 229 off I-45 in Corsicana)
(probably followed by a quick visit to the Russell Stover Candy Factory and Store next door)
3:00pm – earliest hotel check-in time
3:30-6:30pm – TWINKLING FIDDLES REHEARSAL for Dolce Strings and Greenville Suzuki Strings (Dolce Strings 3:30-4:30, together with GSS 4:30-5:30) followed by
5:30pm – Pizza Party with Dolce Strings and the Greenville Suzuki Strings
Location: Landon Winery 2508 Lee Street, Greenville, TX 75401 (903) 454-7878 – in the back room
6:15pm – walk to the GMA for TWINKLING FIDDLES (group of 10) short program run-thru and performance in the “Pre-Show” before the “Asleep at the Wheel” concert (on the steps going up to the backstage area at 7:00pm)
Location: Greenville Municipal Auditorium (GMA)
7:30pm – attend the “Asleep at the Wheel” concert – Purchase tickets in advance at “Buy Tickets” via www.showtimeatthegma.com or the GMA box office at 903-457-2994 and have a snack! Support Greenville Suzuki Strings concession sales at the auditorium.

7:30pm – go swimming at the hotel OR experience the Greenville Ghost Walk or The Haunted Landmark (haunted house) downtown
Saturday 10/8
8:30am Fiddle Contest Warm-up Room opens and Registration (for those participating in the Fiddle Contest)
10:00am-1:00pm Fiddle Contest (for those participating or observing) Free to observers. Come in anytime and watch as long as you like.

11:00am – Dolce Strings Touring Ensemble Concert (arrive 10:15 – outside on the patio)
Location: Landon Winery 2508 Lee Street, Greenville, TX 75401 (903) 454-7878 – on the outdoor covered stage
11:30am – Lunch at the Landon Winery

12:00pm-4:00pm – Support the Greenville Suzuki Strings Concession Booth outside the Texan Theater and have lunch or a snack alfresco
12:30pm – arrive at Your Yoga 2407 Wesley St., Greenville, TX (around the corner from the The Texan Theater) to unpack and warm up. After warming up, performers will go on stage thru the outside stage door to The Texan on Wesley St. Parents and audience will enter thru the front door to the theater on Lee St.
1:00-1:45pm – TWINKLING FIDDLES CONCERT (Dolce Strings and Greenville Suzuki Strings)

2:15-5:00pm Fiddle Contest continues and other festival activities

2:30-5:00pm Fun and Games and Snacks at the Greenville Sports Park and Aunt Char’s Kid Zone

7:30pm – Dolce Strings Touring Ensemble impromptu ‘busking’ (street performance) downtown location TBA
8:00pm – dinner as a group (TBA) or dinner on your own

Sunday 10/9
8:30-10:00am PAJAMA PLAY-IN! Dolce Strings and Greenville Suzuki Strings enjoy a fun group class style review session and play-in. Wear your pajamas, bring your instruments and come ready for games, donuts, and fun!

10:00am – change into performance clothes, check out of the hotel and go to the GMA
11:00am – TWINKLING FIDDLES (no limit on number of performers) short program run-thru and performance in the “Pre-Show” before the Fiddle Contest Finals (on the steps going up to the backstage area at 10:45am)

11:00am-4:00pm Fiddle Contest Finals (if you are competing or observing)
1:00pm – Dolce Strings Touring Ensemble restaurant concert followed by dinner with the group at Soulman’s Bar-B-Que 3201 I-30, Greenville, TX 75402 (just across the freeway from the Hampton Inn – look for the sign with the big pink pig)
5:00pm head back to Houston!
Concert Dress: At The Texan and Landon Winery, wear jeans and boots (if you’ve got ’em) and your BLUE Dolce Strings t-shirt
Onstage performances at the GMA with GSS – Blue Dolce shirts and black jeans or black pants and black shoes please.
(Greenville Suzuki Strings will wear red GSS shirts, black pants, black shoes at the GMA. Red shirts, jeans and boots at The Texan Theater on Saturday.)

Violins, please remember to check which Suzuki pieces you need to review in D Major – down one string – so we can play with the cellos and violas.
Some music & recordings of optional harmony parts are included below. Sheet music can be found in the “Suzuki Duets for Violins” book.
As always in a Suzuki group concert, play the pieces you know and sit down and listen to the ones you don’t!
We anticipate being able to perform all the following repertoire, but some music may have to be cut in the event that the concert is too long. We appreciate your flexibility.
